Using themed, monthly units students will dive into interesting topics through activities and lessons in the areas of language arts, math, science, social studies and art. Possible fall themes are: birds of a feather, let's get dizzy, USA elections, that's a great idea and pumpkins.
Class starts with time on the "farm" tending to our chickens, garden and bird sanctuary and transitions to core subjects with grade-level work samples that meet state standards.
Please provide water, lunch and "farm" shoes.

Explore all the Farmers Market has to offer. We will spend time studying nature, experiencing seasons, using money, diving into different cultures and so much more. PLUS, we will earn different nature badges along the way.
Class starts with an introductory lesson, time going through the market and then a culminating activity.
Please bring water, snacks, a blanket or chairs, and reusable bags (if you have them).

This class is an amazing glimpse into the past. From a 1920 Model-T Truck to 100 year old newspapers, students will admire and use artifacts from the past. They will also be able to participate in hands-on activities like making butter, washing clothes (without a machine), "fetching" water, chopping wood, feeding chickens and more. Pictures of what Orange County used to look like will be readily available. All students will walk away with grade-level work samples.
Classes are scheduled with groups of 6+ students on Mondays and Fridays. Cost is $25 per student and are scheduled upon request.
This creative writing class is individualized based on group needs. All students will explore the elements of a story, create with pre-made story dice and make their very own story dice to take home. All students will walk away with grade-level work samples.

What better way to learn about owls than by dissecting the pellets they regurgitate? All students will dissect their very own pellet, piece together a skeleton and attempt to identify the type of animal the skeleton once was. All students will walk away with grade-level work samples.
